What about the “no additive” issue? Most brands of Native made cigarettes use pure tobacco with no additives. Tobacco was introduced to the “white men” by Native Americans when they first arrived in the New World, claiming they had discovered it. Since they were met on shore by Native Americans who had lived here for quite some time, maybe this claim was a bit inflated?
We all know the history, so let’s continue. Tobacco – pure tobacco – was held sacred by many tribes, and used in ceremonies. The first white tourists that decided to stay fell in love with this leaf that both grew wild and was being cultivated by the Native Americans. These first white tourists took samples home with them as gifts, since no one was selling T-shirts yet.
Folks at home were instantly fans of the leaf, and so came the spread of pure tobacco to the known world (and probably parts of the unknown world since the white men still claimed they discovered America). T-shirts came later and are not claimed by Native Americans, nor are we selling them in our store.
We look forward to communicating more with you on this blog but have to admit real smoke signals were a lot easier to produce and send. Smoke signals did sometimes cause confusion among the white men. Early firemen often responded to a message being sent, instead of a dangerous fire. This could have led to some of the animosity during that time between the white men and the Native Americans – who knows?
Does this help clear things up? What do you think? We look forward to hearing from you, talking with you, sharing with you the same pure tobacco the first white men fell in love with.
